Do Any Natural Teeth Whitening Methods Work?
There are many different ways of natural teeth whitening, and while they may take a little longer than making a few visits to the dentist, or purchasing a whitening kit for home use, you will find with time that they are often just as effective–and certainly much cheaper. In fact, most of the different ingredients in natural teeth whitening products are actually the same as those included in commercial preparations.
I have experimented with both making my own natural tooth whitening pastes and purchasing over the counter natural teeth whitening remedies, and to be honest there was very little difference between the two when it came to how well they performed. Other commercial products used did work a little faster, however this was probably because of the percentage of peroxide and other ingredients used rather than what they were made with. Not all commercial products worked as well as I had hoped, though; some really did not seem to work very well at all–mainly the whitening toothpastes and gels were a bit of a disappointment.
Believe it or not, one of the best natural teeth whitening remedies involves strawberries! Fresh strawberries have something called malic acid which is very effective at removing stains from teeth. So, aside from regularly eating fresh strawberries whenever they are available, you can also make up a paste of crushed strawberries and a little baking soda and use it to brush your teeth once a week.
Whenever natural teeth whitening methods are mentioned people invariably ask many random questions about what works, with one ingredient asked about frequently; baking soda. Baking soda, found in almost everyone’s pantry, is the best of the natural teeth whiteners–even better than hydrogen peroxide. Combining the two ingredients is sure to give you a real winner when it comes to white teeth. Simply make a paste with the two ingredients, put it onto your toothbrush and brush away. If kept up with regularly, you should begin to see some results within a few weeks. As with any tooth whitening products, you should limit yourself to this treatment once a week. For daily use, you can try mixing 1 part peroxide with 2 parts of warm water and use that as a mouth rinse after you brush your teeth each day. This will help to keep your teeth free from stains. There are many other natural teeth whitening tips, but simply following this basic regime regularly should definitely begin to make a difference in the brightness of your smile.
