Does Following A Clean Eating Plan Have To Cost A Lot Of Money?

The great news is that it is definitely possible to come up with an inexpensive clean eating plan. Clean eating on a budget may be a little more challenging than if you had plenty of money to spend at health food stores but you can do it. Following are some tips and ideas on how you can incorporate a clean eating diet into your lifestyle easily and cheaply.

One great idea is to read up on clean eating. There are a lot of great blogs online that share tips and suggestions. Find a couple that you enjoy reading and follow them. If you are fortunate enough to stumble across one that is updated regularly, with a good readership base, you will be able to ask random questions about things you need more information on and get fairly fast responses back. They often share a lot of great money-saving tips and ideas.

The Clean Eating Magazine has an online site which will provide you with a weekly clean eating meal plan for each season of the year.  They also have related shopping lists to download that go along with each of the meal plans and reference the actual clean eating recipes that go along with it. Of course, you will have to adjust the shopping list to the number of people you are cooking for, but at least it gives you a good idea of what you will need. If you are not able to afford everything on the list, you should find it fairly easy to adjust the recipes and subsequently the list to something that is more within your budget.

Buy bulk items. You may find that it is fairly inexpensive to purchase bulk grains and other items at your local health stores, whereas buying smaller quantities of these pre-packaged items will be quite a lot more costly. Also, larger stores that sell bulk goods will also often sell whole grains such as brown rice and wholegrain flour for cheaper prices than you can find it in many health stores.

Work towards home cooked meals; you will save a lot of money if you do more of the cooking yourself. If you find yourself short on time, set aside a few hours each weekend to cook and freeze home-made meals. When you do cook a meal at home, make extra so that you can freeze it and serve it on another day. As you can see, with a little pre-planning and forethought it is possible to eat clean on a regular basis without it having to cost a lot.
